I don't get the hype.

I think it's got some of their prettiest songs/melodies and the wispy, sort of surreal atmosphere never wears off

Generic pedestrian pop album with some "obscure" sharp noises thrown in. There's not a lot to get.

It's good because it's genuinely well written, although the piano compositions are pretty simple, but that's okay

It being ""weird"" is not why it's good, and the fact that you can't see past the noise and just qualify it as "pedestrian pop" says something. "Pedestrian" isn't a criticism
