The other night I was at a concert (Union Transfer seeing MO) and in between the opener and the main act they were playing a song through the speakers that I'm trying hard to identify. I tried recording it on my phone, but it didn't pick it up because it was playing too low and the crowd talking drowned it out.
It was a really slow, mellow song. Just a female voice, not singing any words I don't think, sing-humming a high-ish melody to a simple, slow, prodding bass heavy beat in the background. (There may have been some other sounds but they were faint.) It sounded new-ish but I can't be sure. But it sounded really heavenly/cathartic/pretty.
Any idea who this could be or what song it is?
Death grips.

I thought Death Grips had a male as lead singer?

It kind of sounds like Swans in their folk era--maybe that's it?

Thanks, but I don't think so, I just went through several songs from a bunch of different albums from them and unless I'm missing something, they all had male vocals. Also, the music was a little too fast paced.
The song I heard sounded more modern and not folky at all.

Have any idea of what genre it might be?

I wish

you're gonna have to give a better explanation than that.

The song had a very similar vibe to this Lana Del Rey song, though a little slower:

But the vocals were higher pitched, and I seem to remember there being no lyrics. Or if they were, I couldn't really distinguish them. Something like this, but not nearly as high pitched (but also not as deep as Lana's voice):

ATTENTION: I think the song you are talking about is I'm God, by Clams Casino

Very close... but the song I heard was much slower, and the music in the background was simpler.
Nice song though
