Honestly, I think the banjo is used roughly about as much as it should be. Rarely does it make an amazing song, usually just quaint, good ones.

I really need to listen to more bluegrass. I do like how the banjo sounds though. Especially when it's just one of many instruments in non-bluegrass songs. I think it can add a cool sound to songs.
