Subjectively yeah, they're pretty much totally in sync with what I want out of music on a mental and emotional level. Other stuff gets close but Animal Collective give it to me on a level more direct than anyone else. The second I got into their discography I was amazed that there was a band that was actually pulling off a sound that I always knew I wanted from music.
