ITT: Albums you didn't like at first but later became a favorite
>peter pan
also, allow me to play devils advocate:
>ITT: Albums you forced yourself to like because you're supposed to
pet sounds took me several listens through to notice what was so great about it

I know I did this with a lot of albums. Eventually I realized some of them I just would never like, but most of them I listen to now and enjoy. Even if it was forced, it got me to like more music.

Nirvana have the collective talent of a pig stepping on instruments, I don't get it. I get the music industry was fucking garbage at the time but shit like Nirvana is why we have to deal with buttrock today.

+1 for that album, sounded stupid the first time I heard it but know I think it's their best by far
Clouddead - s/t, because I wasn't prepared for the vocals

yeah I'm racking my brain to figure out how grunge was ever popular. I really really hope it never makes a comeback. Pop today takes a lot influences from the 80's and the 60's and parts of the 70's and I really hope it stays that way. Grunge was so awful it's not even funny. The 90's is when everything went to shit, what even happened?

if you havent already, you should listen to in utero, its like a different perspective

Strangely enough, this.
Perhaps it was because I had such high expectations for it. Its a great album, its just not Remain in Light.

should say I'm not a deafener, I think that music went back to being great and is already overtaking older stuff, but it's like creative quality nosedived in the 90's. Shoegaze and a few indie albums are the only things I think I would save from that decade.

Yeah, I've listened to it, it's moderately better. But not much.
>>69494230
I'm glad that you did

Same for me.

I love Dave Thomas' escape mental patient that talks your ear off at the DMV vocal delivery.
Seriously, he's such a unique and awesome vocalist.
I actually fell asleep the first time I heard this by track three. I didn't listen to it again for 4 or 5 months and now it's in my top ten.
