Not true at all. Wings' worst album is still better than the Beatles' worst album. Plus He had McCartney, Ram, and McCartney II which are all almost 10/10. Not to mention Tug of War, Off The Ground, Flaming Pie, and Chaos & Creation... And that's just solo McCartney. He was by far the best songwriter and biggest contributor (particularly after 1966).
