There really aren't. When it comes down to it, almost every band can be labeled under Thrash, Death, Doom, Black, Heavy, Power, and Progressive (when necessary).
There are a few that are more acceptable due to a smaller number of bands who fit into the mold, like Sludge, Post, and Folk/Viking Metal.
But all of the other stuff is bullshit nonsense made up by talentless twerps who care more about trendy scene bullshit than the music itself.
