Daggerfall was revolutionary for it's time and still has one of the largest in game maps of all time let alone rpgs

Oblivion degraded the combat and overall rpg mechanics from Morrowind and Daggerfall in favor of things like visuals, 'ambience' and 'ai'

The perfect game would be to take Morrowind's overall gameplay engine and put it into Daggerfall's expansive fantasy world

it's just spamming swing until the enemy is dead because of the set damage per weapon and not rangers per attack (not as bad as Skyrim, but that is hardly a game) and the spell system is next to retarded, though at least you get a tad bit of customization at some point way way down the line if you play it legit

and I don't understand when people dislike Morrowind because it is basically just digital DnD and things like missing an attack based on your skill with the weapon is unbalanced or some shit

The start of morrowind combat is ridiculous, missing like 80% of your swings. That's not realistic at all and really irritating. I do agree with you that combat can get tiresome just by swinging, but remember there are combo specials after increasing skill too in Oblivion. Why is Morrowind combat so much better? Mechanics and movement are outdated and clunky, inhibiting the game immersion
