What would Kid A sound like if it was made by Americans?

America was never very English, even when it was a colony. And no shit those Irish don't believe in birth control.

>Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
This is a good serious answer, but I'll make my shitpost anyway

For starters, it would have less krautrock influence and more straightforward lyrics.
Americans can't into the type of emotions Radiohead cover, there's a certain overconfidence that is kind of at odds with the general anxious and depressive atmosphere of their music.
If Radiohead were actually an American band they would have followed up OK Computer within a year or two, and doubled down on the rawk instead of getting rid of it almost completely.

Something something Trent Reznor
>>69446881
oh yeah that might be it
>>69447093
Trent Reznor is actually a really good American equivalent. Still a great producer, but everything is just turned up to the max sonically and emotionally so much so that it loses most of Kid A's subtlety. And doesn't really bring many outside influences like jazz or krautrock

Exactly. We don't do subtlety, it's why I picked him.
Probably this but half the length
I've always kind of viewed Remain In Light as being like the Kid A of its time.
