moo's opinion on the two-piece act Sleigh Bells and their new album, "Jessica Rabbit"? Might be their best album to date.
Personally I really dig them, they're one of the most abrasive sounds in pop music right now. It's really in-your-face and proud. Much like The Beastie Boys.
I also think that they really influenced that 2010 album of M.I.A. "Maya" with their debut "Treats". You can definitely hear back those super loud guitar loops on M.I.A.'s album. Definitely worth a listen if you're also into Sleigh Bells.
t. Sleigh Bells
Amazing debut, really good sophomore, shit ever since.
Bitter Rivals was bland and Jessica Rabbit was their first album that was actively bad.
I think it's because (a) they got slightly pretentious with their songwriting and with Alexis' vocal style and (b) Sleigh Bells' abrasive 'signature' sound just isn't really compatible with high production value, which is, unfortunately, the problem with every album since Treats. Reign of Terror gets away with it pretty well, but BR and JR are too clean and safe for Sleigh Bells.
I'm kind of disappointed.
Well Anthony seems to like it so i will probably like it too

you're definitely right on this. Jessica Rabbit for the most part sounds tame compared to the more hard hitting songs on Treats. It took me a few listens to get into it. It is definitely the go-to album for people who just started listening to them, though.
I did see much progress in their live performances. Way tighter
Compare this very recent performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1UsYWMW3vY
to this older one, which ain't that good imo:

Antwan Fantwan liking it is probably the best promotion they're gonna get, so I'm happy he gave it a 7. Eventhough I wouldn't rate it that high.

That was so surprising to me. After he compared Treats to a Brokencyde album, said RoT was 'better, but still not great,' and didn't even bother to review Bitter Rivals at all, I was certain he was going to give Jessica Rabbit an overly negative review.
Nope. 7. wtf

I think he really changed his mind regarding Treats and he gave Jessica Rabbit a 7 out of pity because of it. How can one man love the fuck out of Death Grips and at the same time hate a Sleigh Bells album?
I like Jessica Rabbit
anyone got a link for their new album please?

Apparently sharing piratebay links here is 'spam,' so here it is in binary.
