Not really, in a sense that Beats are overcharging for branding and out-of-the-box bass boost, but the components aren't inherently dog shit.

Crosely's are made of shit, but look trendy, are dirt cheap, and sold at Urban Outfitters alongside Lana Del Ray and Hasley records. People buy them for the same reason they buy records: Image. Crosley's just happen to be technically functional.
