What is this, high school in 1999? Or middle school in 2005? Fucking deal with it. From my experience, most of the people who are actually big fans of punk couldn't care less about what most people think punk is. They're too busy listening to old Dirt demos and shit. Complaining about what is and isn't punk is usually reserved for the Epitaph records listening casuals.

It's honestly either pic or Pop Group's Y.

If I was going EPs instead of LPs it would be Black Flag's Nervous Breakdown or Ceremony's Ruined.

If it's compilations, it's probably Despise You's Westside Horizons or (if it counts) Acme's To Reduce A Choir To One Soloist.

>>69407932
Green Day are the definition of sell outs. I wouldn't go as far as to say that they aren't a punk band, but since dookie they pretty much threw their punk ethics out the window. That's why so many punk fans hate them.
>>

just because they had some cunt in the background trying to capitalize off their angst doesn't mean shit

In the recycle bin where they belong

Fugazi is like Death Grips with everything that makes the band interesting stripped away until it's just a purposeless assault on your auditory senses. Good music to destroy furniture to but so is everything that's loud and angry.

he introduced all the members

he came up with the band name

he organized their publicity stunts

he even owned the band's contract rights until 1987

some quotes from him:

"Christ, if people bought the records for the music, this thing would have died a death long ago"

claiming that the Sex Pistols were his personal, Situationist-style art project "I decided to use people, just the way a sculptor uses clay."

Fugazi are just shit because Ian Mackaye became a whiny SJW after Minor Threat broke up and banned fun at their shows.
>>
>>69408339
I dunno, Cro-Mags to me represent the splitting point in hardcore where it went from being just zippy little tunes with three chords and a singer trying to cram 5 paragraphs into 40 seconds (Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Reagan Youth, etc.) to more slower, metal edged stuff that dominated in the 90's (Madball, Sick Of It All, Hatebreed).

I like both styles though so I can't hate.
>>
>>69408286
and what about you know, the actual fucking music part of it?
sure they were organized and publicized by him but to equate them to the backstreet boys where everything was micro-managed is just dumb.

Alright, but this means Ramones, Sex Pistols, and The Clash aren't punk either.

In fact it means that the base punk is now hardcore punk, meaning that post-punk is also invalidated and is now post-pop.

Hence, finally dreampop and noisepop's names make sense.
