The last one I enjoyed a little was UFO but maybe because it was the last one that came out before I started uni. I only played TD intermittently and I don't remember anything about it (and I never used that shitty gimmick thing properly anyway). Suika was first in IaMP (the first Beat em up of the series) and she was also in StB and SWR. She was in the story mode for SA as the B type shot for Reimu (A was Yukari and C was Aya). She had a cool theme in IaMP and I have a nice Liquid Funk remix of it somewhere but fuck knows where.

Fuck man, I even played the PC-98 games for no real reason. HRtP was fucking impossible to play thought but I think I 1CC'd the rest on at least normal. I wish NAU was still around, he was also a touhoufag at one point. And he was like the only other person who I knew anywhere who knew what Schranz was.

Oh and google, it's called SEO. Basically google works based on algorithms not open to the public. However some of the basis for their operation is public knowledge. Websites appear based on how many links are directed towards them and how many links are directed towards those links. So basically, if the news says "Hey check this out!" on tv, and everyone talks about it on facebook. The news can link to any article and make it then show very high in google results. This system basically leads to a rich get richer sort of internet and leads to homogenization of information sources/etc. Youtube is doing shady stuff too, and they're owned by google. Like their trending tab on youtube is really just paid promotion, one can tell from just looking at it. Which is just lying to our faces. THere's a lot to this, but yeah.

but not really with anything else you've said. having personally dealt with a number of decent labels, there isn't much of that corporate culture beyond trying to break even. i think the money is where the conservatism sneaks in - sign the thing that you know will move a few copies as opposed to the, 'do i take a risk with X or Y and risk selling 10 copies.'

there's plenty of fault with artists as well as the producer/dj dichotomy no longer exists - unless you've got a long standing reputation under your belt, these days you're getting booked depending on where you're releasing and what you're releasing. beyond that, there's a bigger conversation to be had about mimicry in the post-internet age and the relative ease by which that mimicry can be accomplished.

perhaps bigger than that, the internet has killed any notion of a 'local' scene - something that can be nurtured in a couple of city districts, in relative isolation, before being unleashed on everyone else.

So, in recent years, more independent labels with no chance in the world of getting a distribution deal with virgin or some shit are so ill informed that they want to seem as though "they're making it big". Same theory applies to independent artists.
