Like I don't wanna be that guy that complains about "hipster black metal", and those people really annoy me, but all the bands you listed aren't good representations of black metal.

Hence why I titled the thread "atmospheric black metal" not "black metal that has never seen the light of pitchfork.com." I understand Deafheaven and Ghost Bath aren't "true" metal in the eyes of most metal listeners, but they're also what are prompting me to look into more metal.

I've tried Burzum from other /mu/ threads and never got into it. Satanic Warmaster is good so far though

Nothing, I like Mesarthim somewhat. But calling Deafheaven and Ghost Bath cucks while reccing them is baffling.
They're nearly identical musicwise, although Mesarthim is more synth-driven.
