Question for you guys, I want speakers, and the ones i want are a little too wide to fit on my tiny desk thingy. They're the Klispch ProMedia Ones.
8.5" by 4.5" x 5.6".
Are there any really good skinny-ish speakers that are more tall and less wide but still sound good? I listen to Anco and Pavement if ur wodnering but I just want something that sounds pretty damn good but isn't crazy expensive.
Budget?
damn that has to be a desk for ants if it can't fit these

It has this stupid like desk thingy where the printer is on top of it. Like its one of those old ish desks when the monitor used to be under one of those....I dunno the name for it, but basically I can only fit skinny speakers

100-200 dollars
I'd rec'd these. 4" wide. I've used them as a bedroom system for years and they're still going strong.

The package did come with a sub, which can also be had for cheap, but even without the sub, they still cover the low end suitably enough for nearfield listening.
Solid fuckers, too. MDF cabinets and heavy drivers.
Smallest I can find. Any smaller, and you're getting into plastic crap from Logitech and the like.

Thanks, They're pretty cheap. I hope they aren't low end

Not at all. Original price for the system was 399.00 (in 1996 dollars). Also keep in mind that speakers/stereo technology doesn't scale like computer tech, so it's not like a 1996 stereo system will be a Pentium in performance compared to modern equipment, Audio is a pretty mature technology. It's why buying used is usually recommended for people getting into hi-fi.
FWIW, here's a review of the Ensemble 2.

As long as they're in good working order, you should be happy.

Ok! Thanks for your help!

No prob.
I also assume you have an amp/receiver to plug these speakers into? They don't hook up like computer speaker.
If you don't, this little beast can't beat for the size and price.

I don't have an amp. Thanks again. I might try and see if i can somehow fit the Klispchs somewhere. My friend has those so i KNOW they sound good.
