Turn on the Bright Lights
Would love some recommendations for similar albums
Essential pleb-tier depressioncore
Prepare yourself to dwell on your empty life while droning organs and ghost-like vocals coax you towards suicide.

The s/t makes Depression Cherry seem like The GoGo's
>>69331417
listening to this now, kind of reminds me of a mix between Milk Music and Summerteeth Wilco
Since my favourite depression-core album was posted, I'll post my second favourite, same artist.
>>69331417
My favourite album right here.
Here's some stuff I've found that's similar in tone if not instrumentation:
First off, pic-related, Josephine and What Comes After the Blues by Jason Molina's various projects are great and keep generally the same tone.
The Letting Go by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, as well as BPB's self-titled from 2013-2014.
My Song is Gonna Set Me Free by The Natives (free on Bandcamp)
Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle by Bill Callahan
Where Shall You Take Me by Damien Jurado (a close friend of Molina's who was very obviously inspired by him)

thought that joke would be funnier, you're totally right
>>69331486
It is to /mu/'s standard
>>69331512
Thanks for the list, I'll check them all out

Used to love this album but now it just makes me cringe :(
>>69331563
>giles cory, bloody gory

the first track is the only track i liked btw
Quintessential depression album. Avey articulates depression better than any other artist I've listened to thus far.
this always works for me
Alaska by Bruce Springsteen

>Alaska by Bruce Springsteen
Assuming you mean Nebraska

I hate that fuckin owl his face looks like every chubby bald guy with a beard I know
>>69331653
(You)
have you listened to it?
>>69331664
right? Avey's got soul, man. Such a raw and honest performance on Down There especially
>>69331550
No problem, mate.
>>69331641
Yeah, Nebraska. It's been a long day
>>69331058
Mount erriee
The microphones
Old modest mouse
And you're set OP
>>69331512
Andrew?
>>69331981
Not Andrew, had a complicated-as-fuck thing with a guy named Andrew in 519-area code though who probably likes similar music these days.

>posting always the same 2 slowcore albums
Duster isn't even that depressing, it's just moody.
Listen to:
Bedhead
Love, Claire
Red House Painters
Seam
The first 5 Low albums
Everyone asked about you
and then tell me about how great that Duster album is. It's not even a top 10 slowcore record and a typical example of how superficial the discussion on /mu/ is.
Xiu Xiu - A Promise
Grouper - The Man Who Died In His Boat
I Hate Myself - 10 Songs
Casiotone for the Painfully Alone - first two albums

XO and Either/Or are the only albums of his you could describe as pleb
>>69332107
Seam is not depressing at all, Bedhead isn't either
