I'm guessing you don't listen to a lot of pop nowadays. Starboy certainly isn't as experimental as Blonde or as emotionally charged as Lemonade but it's far far beyond what's generally played on the radio nowadays. Like it has a lot of craft and production put into it and Abel is a genuinely good singer. Most modern EDM inspired pop just seems like they put a formula into a computer and it shat out some generic ear pleasing melody.

All in all a decent pop album, something pleasant you can put on in the background while working. Let's be honest though, the only two outstanding tracks are the Daft Punk features, as someone else said they should've done a collab album. I like the more mellow feeling too this album though, it shows he's versatile and it reflects a change in his life from earlier albums.

The Weekend is garbage. He's a very mediocre vocalist coasting off a bad-boy image and his producers that get zero credit for CREATING his sound. Top it all off with edgelord-status cocaine references and you've got the most overrated nobody of the century. The only good thing I have to say about him is at least he's not a mumble rapper and at least he doesn't whore out auto tune.

Love to lay and Rockin' best tracks so far. Six feet under is amazing too but it's too similar to his other tracks. Orinary life rocks too. Pretty good album.
