What does /mu/ think of R.E.M.? I rarely see them mentioned here despite their fame.
i like them
Chronic Town and Murmur are my favs
they influenced bands that would become better than them

They are mentioned fairly often in non-meme threads. Murmur is /mu/'s fav.

Who are you talking about specifically?
>>69266882
there are more but the specific one i was thinking of was built to spill

Oasis

Murmur, Fables, and to a lesser extent Reckoning are all masterpieces. Everything after that is good, but not great. Until a few months ago, they were simultaneously my favorite band and the most disappointing band I knew
Automatic for the People is overrated as fuck
Murmur, Document and Green are stellar
there's lots of hits and misses in their discography, but they've never released an album that truly blew me away
I like Out of Time.
Oh no, I've said too much.

Sounds like your standards are too high.

>there's lots of hits and misses in their discography
This, inconsistent but as to be expected over three decades. Their compilation albums, particularly In Time are fantastic though.

it's their fault for having their first 3 albums all be 9.5+ (2 perfect 10s)
