Hey guys, are you listening your music largely on studio monitors? If so, do they sound "good". Mine's sounds so accurate (sounds "good" and it's pleasurable, but it's so fatiguing). I eq'd mine so it sounds "pleasurable". What's your EQ settings?
>EQing already mastered music with a shitty equaliser
nope
don't do it

>are you listening your music largely on studio monitors?
KRK Rokits so kind of but not quite
>do they sound "good"
yes
>What's your EQ settings?
no no no
music is mastered so you don't need to process it further. not only is your EQ setting likely bad but also if you're using a shitty EQ included in an OS or some media player then you're undoubtedly introducing a whole world of shit phasing that you're mistaking for whatever your EQ is doing and it's just making it sound worse. you want as little processing as possible when you're listening to music.

op you're a fucking retard

I know that it's already mastered. I find studio monitors fatiguing (yeah I know I should practice listening to it more).

Is EQ on home stereos and software purely for casuals and getting more money?
I've used EQ only on shitty machines like mp3 players, crap headphones to get at least something out of it, but now I think of it, do they even have another function?
using REW to create inverted filter IRs for both speakers and the sub for room correction in addition to my absorbers and traps
I'm still fighting a nasty 33Hz mode but other than that it's well in ITU-R BS 1116 target
