I went into Muse hearing they were modern prog but their music is complete shit. It looks like a complete amateurs attempt at art music, so thin and gimmicky, not that "art music" is some end all be all, it was just laughable

a big fault of people on this board is assuming that because people enjoy entry level (note: not necessarily bad) music, they're plebs or somehow not as educated musically.

popular albums can be as good as more obscure or experimental works. i mean in this context, yeah, it's safe to assume the guy literally doesn't know much about music and just chose the most acclaimed albums he could find. then again, it's a fallacy to assume shit like that.

I find Deja Entendu to be their best album, but The Devil and God has what I'd consider their best couple of songs. Basically, as an album it doesn't do much for me, but a few songs on it are GOAT, especially Millstone.

I feel like I appreciate a lot of music, and varying genres' but when it comes down to my genuine favorites between nostalgia and me being a basic bitch I don't think any of my choices are groundbreaking and some are probably outright garbage so I'm not gonna judge others too harshly.

Top of my head: all hail west texas / paradise dont come cheap / mbdtf (seriously though) / mmlp (yeah) / pinkerton / in rainbows (same as le reddit guy) / blood on the tracks / lift your skinny fists antennas to heaven / acid rap (its a mixtape though) / and probably miley cyrus and her dead pets
