ITT: better album trilogies than Swans

Nice B8 but I'll Bite
I actually really like green day but those are some of the worst pop punk albums I've ever heard
>>
Berlin Trilogy.

Any "name a better trilogy" thread will always be defeated by that.
>>
>>69235066
good one op
>>
>>69235066
It annoys me that this whole trilogy was just an excuse to have a shite pun for the third album
>>

Can
>>69235084
Nah, he was a mediocre pop musician
>>
Pop punk is the most horrific forms of commodification I have seen. Take punk, something so bluntly reactionary to commodification, niche marketing, and capitalism, and then market it to teenagers as using these three things in the process. It's dishonest, insincere, musically uninteresting, and borderline offensive. Take your shitty, Hot Topic tier garbage and don't come back you molester of the arts.
>>
>>69235066
Lol its funny cuz its actually not true
>>
>>69235173
>Shit talks David Bowie
>Posts a shitty band like Can
Not surprised you have shit taste.
>>
Deathspell Omega's Si Monumentum/ Fas – Ite/ Paracletus trilogy.
Blut Aus Nord's 777 trilogy.
Man Made Origin's Human Nature Trilogy.
Axis of Perdition's Deleted Scenes/ Urfe / Tenements trilogy.
BtBaM's Swim to the Moon / Parallax 1 & 2
And that Green Day one.
>>
>>69235464
>Blut Aus Nord's 777 trilogy.
no

Any trilogy is going to be defeated by either combination of these albums

¡UNO! was a lot of fun, it's simplicity after American Idiot and 21st Century was a breath of fresh air. Nuclear Family and Let Yourself Go are really fun.

¡DOS! was pretty good. Nightlife is probably one of the worst Green Day songs ever made, but Lazy Bones is one of their best. Stray Heart is fun, same with Ashley and Wild One.

¡TRE! was kinda boring though. X-Kid is a great song though.

This was the best part of the trilogy though: https://youtu.be/g9zogQOmQVM

Watched that whole thing, it honestly felt like such an act. Like that whole thing felt false, billie joe was clearly trying to put on a show of how upset he was. If he was actually pissed he would have started breaking shit way earlier. Plus with Mike off to the side meagerly destroying his and tre just gets up and walks away sadly... It's depressing they're like this.

There's cool destruction of instruments like Jimi Hendrix burning his guitar, but then there's just dumb shit like doing it because you can't control your temper or like Matt Bellamy who does it for literally no reason (maybe to prove how wealthy he is and how little he cares about his musical instruments that plenty of much more talented people will never be able to afford?)

That's just it though, they didn't do anything but throw a childish temper tantrum. He was acting like he wasn't going to listen to the clock telling them they only had 1 minute left... but then he just walks off stage anyway.

Basically, either leave the stage with dignity and not say anything, or freak out and stick it to the man by staying on stage and playing anyway. Force them to kick you off.

All that situation proved is that Billie Joe is a crybaby with no character and an inability to stick up for himself.

Good job explaining your case there m8

>He got his message across perfectly fine. Even Mike started breaking his guitar.

Ooh the rich rock stars broke their dime a dozen LP jrs, what a statement!!! I'm sure the concert promoters were so angry about the extra press his bitch session got them.

He didn't stick up for his band. He walked off stage when he was supposed to but only after throwing a temper tantrum like a baby. If you think throwing a fit is a good way to stick up for yourself I have to assume you're under 18 and therefore should get off this site.

>he told them to fuck off and promptly left.

Why would you tell someone to fuck off and then fuck off yourself? Nothing would have been made worse if they broke into another song. They would have either let them go or eventually shut off the sound and had security come on stage to make them leave. Then he might have been respectable.
>>
>>69248344
I can confirm you're autistic.

He literally stuck up for his band.

This isn't a debate. Sorry.
>>
>>69248333
What you fail to understand is that whether or not he stayed on stage after he freaked out is irrelevant. He behaved like a little baby. It's just ironic how his whole angle is being "punk rock" and yet he couldn't even do that right.

He should have just left when his time was up like an adult.

Telling people to fuck off but then turning right around and doing what they told you to do is exactly what beta bitches do. Maybe if he had stayed up on the stage and played another song he would have come off like a man.

You're critiquing why he didn't just stay and play more music instead of telling them to fuck off.

I'm telling you why. Time was cut and he didn't want to stay and play music as a form of telling them to fuck off.

It's not rocket science, anon. I'm giving you a answer for something you asked about.

>Time was cut and he didn't want to stay and play music as a form of telling them to fuck off.

He literally said "I want to play a new song" right when his time ran out.

He was mad they cut his set short, because he wanted to play more. He threw a fit and obviously thought about going into a new song/was hoping they would give him more time. But they didn't and he pussied out at the last minute and just left.

Even if his intoxication was the catalyst for his childish behavior, it's not a good excuse. Earlier you were saying he was sticking it to the concert managers and sticking up for his band. Now you're just saying he was drunk and sholdn't be held accountable for his actions.

He should be held accountable. I literally never said he shouldn't.

But what he did wasn't wrong in the slightest.

He was sticking it to the content managers and sticking up for his band.

He just happened to be drunk, which is why he said that he was going to play a new song.

>>
>>69249313
He should be held accountable for the whole affair.

But you have absolutely no evidence to suggest he was scared and that's why he left.

If you didn't suffer from severe autism, you would see that he said he wanted to play a new song, then while talking about the time left on clock he became aggravated to the point where he smashed his instrument and thus couldn't play more music.
>>
>>69249262
Sure you can argue he was yelling at the managers in order to stick up for his band, but it was still a childish way to go about it. Why not act rationally and plead for a few more minutes to play a new song?

Are you suggesting yelling FUCK 20+ times is admirable behavior? Do you look up to this man? I'm failing to grasp your reasons for defending him.
>>
>>69249377
>he became aggravated to the point where he smashed his instrument and thus couldn't play more music.

He couldn't play more music because he stopped when the concert managers told him to.

People can get angry any way they wish, I'm simply stating his anger was justified.

He filled his time slot and wanted to tell iHeartRadio to fuck off at the end. It's not he played 3 songs and then canceled the remainder of his entire tour.

In the end he did nothing truly wrong. It was a harmless fuck you to the content managers.

>I'm simply stating his anger was justified.

Right, there's no argument about that. But the question is was the way he dealt with his anger justified? You can vent your anger many ways. A grown man yelling fuck and throwing a fit isn't necesarilly justified.

> It was a harmless fuck you to the content managers.

But he left when they wanted him to. That's not a fuck you to the managers... even if it was intended to be.
