My gear is relatively cheap, consisting of entry-level guitars, amps and mixers. I use an SM57 to record everything, a shitty Cort AD810 and the cheapest Epiphone SG I could find. My amp is a Peavey practice combo from the 80s, pretty bad to be honest, but makes a great entry amp for the price. A custom made Big Muff clone is my fuzz and a shitty Artec is my chorus (I shit you not, I found that one on the street in a rubbish bin). I also use FL Studio for "laptop noise".

Description:

The title of Good Boy's new album, A Mouth Full, is quite prophetic of what it has to offer. Dizzying, disorienting synthesizers and vocoders, dwindling guitars, and colorful, terse bursts of energy, composed and comprised aside George's soft spoken, illusory-filled lyricism. Quite the mouthful indeed.

Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And George give some love. Thank You. :)

I recorded entirely on a cassette recorder, then assembled the tracks in ableton. My songs are mostly improvised and usually come together in a day, because if I have to spend a lot of time working on a song then the song is probably just bad.

NEW ALBUM- kind of, not really

See, I've decided to slowly release my album track by track as I put the finishing touches on it, rather than release it all at once. This is a pretentious thing for an obscure nobody /bandcamp/ artiste to do but I'm doing it anyways because it's fun. As of this post, I've released tracks 2, 6, 9, 10, 13, 18, 21 and 23.

Hey, now THIS is what I'm talkin about! I'm not just blowing smoke up your butt, I assure you. As a big fan of sound collages, and a bigger fan of songs without real titles, and an even bigger fan of children's keyboards, this is absolute A-1 stuff. What a way to start off the thread. Great find. Timbres out the wazoo. Downloaded.

>>69234586
First off, excellent album cover. Secondly, you weren't kidding when you said "warm." The production on this is just perfect. I think I'm gonna have to download this too. Bloopy synths everywhere with Latin rhythms. Yes. I need it.

Hmm. This is the third thing I've listened to in this thread and I have yet to hit anything I find mediocre. This might even be download-worthy like the others. Maybe I'm just in a good mood today. At any rate, this is quite enjoyable, and this is coming from someone who listens to very little techno. I have no criticism. It sounds gooey.

>>69234852
Okay, so I'm not feeling this one as much. (I listened to stuff from
¿Qué Límite?) It's professionally done though, and still pretty trippy, with lots of pleasantly weird noises throughout. I like the interludes more than the actual songs, which are memorable more for the strange sounds in the background rather than the melodies or chord progressions. Take Puñalada for example. I like the warped little doo-dee-doo-dee that wheezes throughout in the background, or what sounds like an actual theremin around 1:23. The actual songwriting itself, though, is nothing to write home about (except for that cool little Beefheart-esque interlude around 2:25-2:30.) The thing is though, I think I'll be coming back to this because it's obvious a lot of work was put into it and that gives it some small but lasting intrigue.

The first track makes me picture a tiny little ballerina doll spinning around inside a snowglobe, so if that was your intention, then good job. These atmospherics are nice but I can't say anything's really sticking. Dreamy, but the kind of dream that you forget when you wake up. Sorry.

>>69235380
Doesn't appeal to me. Lots of reverb and crunchiness and trippiness but it's lacking that certain something special. I can tell you like Ty Segall though. Considering that I don't really, then perhaps what is to be said about this album should only be said by true connoisseurs of modern fuzzy garage rock.

>>69235380
Actually hold on, Dog in Heat has some nice harmonies. I enjoyed those. And Dead Tooth has some doo woppy piano. I like that.

>>69235450
Obviously no one's going to take stuff like this seriously, but I'm going to do so anyways, because for starters, the chord progressions on SCCC Theme Song are fun. The lyrics are oddly resonant too, and despite the whole thing having that slacker-I'm-not-really-trying vibe, I like it. I even dig the vocals; reminds me a little bit of Half Handed Cloud. The first three songs are where it's at; the rest are maybe redundant (oh wait, Not Me has a I-II progression in it and I'm a sucker for those. It also has a nifty little piano solo. That piano solo is godly).

>>69235487
Hmmm. I don't know how I feel about this. There's something off-putting about it, and not in the normal experimental way. It's got some nice wub-wub-wub-wah-wah-wah sounds though. And it samples Their Hearts Were Full of Spring at the beginning.
