Amber is also > Incunabula, like what the fuck. Amber has some dated string pads but all of the percussion and synths on Incunabula sound like a product of their time.

This is my (and I assume many others) issue with it though. I don't want Autechre to remind me of Aphex Twin. Amber is a great album yet too similar to other ambient/ambient techno releases from that period. IMO it's missing that singular, recognizable "Autechre" characteristic.

Some might say the same thing about Incunabula, but it has that crunchy, austere quality that Ae became known for while also being far more rooted (which separated it from Detroit techno) in hip-hop than the other UK techno releases at that time.

So Incunabula, Tri Repetae, LP5, and Confield are the only Autechre releases (though Chiastic Slide hasn't been reviewed) to get a score above an 8.0, with TR being the sole album to break into the 9s. Interesting.
