Think about it for more than a moment: In 2 years time, will you look back on the genre called "Future Funk", and say that it was in any way avant garde? The "sound of the future"?
No, of course not.
But I do have an answer for you. Look deeper into the samples; they, and plunderphonics generally, steal a lot of 70's and 80's pop/soul/r&b music.
I'd suggest look less into the future, and staring more back into the past.
