I liked it but not as much as I thought I would since it's hyped up and shit.

Listened to pic related today, was pretty good. I was surprised because I was not expecting much, I had even forgotten I had it in my library. Well, a pleasant surprise.
>>
Kinoko Teikoku are really really fucking good!
>>
>>69192622
Have you heard their new album?
>>
>>69192636
Not yet. I'm listening to just Long Goodbye right now, but I can already tell it'll be one of my favourite bands. In fact I'm about to order all of their CDs!

That's nice. Don't forget to get the limited edition while you still can: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/UPCH-29240
>>
>>69192234
Yeah it is pretty hyped up. there are definitely ways it could have been better, I've seen a few people bring up it's length as a negative. The main operator behind Sweet Trip even said V:D:C could stand to be 15-20 minutes shorter.

That album sounds interesting, I'll have to give it a listen.

Comes with a DVD huh? Would you recommend getting it? I'm not that big into concert recordings really, but having variations of the songs might be cool? It's cheaper on Amazon too, 3100 yen; only 4 bucks more than the standard one.
>>
>>69192811
It wouldn't hurt paying 4 bucks more for extra content, right? Assuming you can, of course. It includes some photo cards too. It'd be pretty nice of you to rip/scan the extra content for us poorfags who happen to love the band.
>>
>>69192900
Yeah, 4 bucks is nothing, I might as well get the LE.
Though I'm sure DVD-rips will be all over the place, they're a pretty popular band after all, no?
>>
>>69192999
I haven't seen anyone mention the existence of the DVD until now so, I can't say. I do am pretty sure that the rip won't come from Japan because of their copyright laws.
>>
>>69193060
Huh. Well yeah, I guess we have to depend on people that import stuff and are willing to rip it.

In any case, if no one else can do it, I will. Not sure where I'd put it though. Maybe MEGA or rutracker, or both.

>きのこ帝国 - 渦になる or eureka (2012/2013)
>Pinkshinyultrablast - Everything Else Matters or Grandfeathered (2015/2016)
>A Sunny Day In Glasgow –Sea When Absent (2014)
>東京酒吐座 - Crystallize (2011)
>True Widow - As High As The Highest Heavens... (2011)

Kinda surprised there's never much mention of m b v or Pains Of Being Pure At Heart's second album

>My Bloody Valentine - mbv (2013)

I know people wouldn't want to put another MBV album in the highest status possible, but fuck the haters. Is is going to go down in history like Loveless? Of course not. Is it one of the best shoegaze albums since 2010? Absolutely.

I think closely behind are

Seems like we keep getting a new "play these things at the same time" project every year or so, how long until a music player catches on and builds the functionality in? Or does something already exist that allows you to play multiple sound files at once as easily as a single song?

I found it very boring, the textures weren't anywhere near at intense as the hype suggested and the songwriting underneath couldn't make up for it. Not a bad album and I'd probably feel different if it were like my first or second shoegaze album ever but I have a hard time seeing how genre veterans can get excited over this. Deleted months ago, probably won't revisit.

Go listen to their second album then
There's no cats or pedals

Also there's a bunch of solid shoegaze albums with cats on the cover, so you're missing out if that's a legitimate criterion of yours

I love Gensho. I usually just play the Boris part really loudly though. It's interesting to mix them up though.

To me at least, it's the real essential album when it comes to Japanese shoegaze

Seems to be doing relatively well in the poll
Albeit /shugazi/ has a bit of a wapanese kick when it comes to new releases, but it's definitely super solid regardless
>>
>>69221712
Shoegaze is usually associated with sensibility, introvertion, introspection. Sort of like cats I guess.
>>
>>69218900
WAIT? THAT'S A CAT?

I always thought it was some weird hairy demon head with shadow eyes. I always thought chapterhouse was edgy as fuck.

need good psych shoegaze

what

>I always thought chapterhouse was edgy as fuck
Chapterhouse were poppier than Ride even
Half the stuff off their first album is reminiscent of late 80s Madchester acid rock stuff

>tfw you listened to shoegaze too much for years and now you find it boring as fuck

I am afraid of this

Dreampop is the hardest genre to get right. Reverb pop dominates while decent dreampop is rare as fuck.
>>
how to make shugazi vocals? Just add reverb?
>>
>>69226289
If you can talk just talk longer
>>
>>69225822
good list
>>
>>69226289

If you don't like your singing voice you can get away with just singing softly and drowning it in reverb, delay and any other effects that might sound good then keeping the volume lower than the guitars. If you do like your singing voice you can just do a little reverb and keep them higher in the mix.

I think the poll should open up next /shugazi/ thread and then after that thread it will be official
>>

this one will probably die overnight unless the yuros keep it going

If it dies ill make a new one if someone doesn't first

I dunno the poll has been up for like 30 hours, so I feel like most everyone should have seen it already
maybe not though
