I wish Hendrix had never popularised all along the watchtower. It was perfect on JWH. Beautiful instrumentation and recording.

I think they do detract, but only in a sense that he should have just put them on NS. Its as if he just didn't cut the end and beginning correctly between the two. Suppose it shows how quickly all those records came about, which is especially interesting considering how different they are (especially BoB and JWH - and with the basement tapes inbetween(and that supposed motorcycle crash)).
