The only piece i can say i remember listening to is his Piano and String Quartet (which i will admit makes me kind of a hypocrite for saying his music is forgettable) and after reading these "stylistic descriptions", the magic just fades for some reason, there's nothing there.

you can't appreciate a piece like that with one listen. the music isn't "forgettable" in the traditional sense. what you have to understand is that feldman disorientates your memory throughout a piece by reiterating patterns with slight, almost imperceptible changes. this effect is amplified by the sheer scale of many of his later works

Personally i feel like you don't really have a great interest for music if "reiterating patterns with slight, almost imperceptible changes" is something you find more interesting than, say, the actual concepts that make music and how people have improved on such concepts over the years.
