Tarantula has like one nice track, Castle on the Hill, which isn't even remotely shoegaze, but it's about the band breaking up and feelsy as fuck.

You really need to check out Coming Up for Air (pic related), though. Basically psychedelic shoegaze jam, at the same level as early core Ride.

Also I was surprisingly satisfied with Kinoko Teikoku's new album, I'm guessing they were probably just spooked into sticking to a commercial sound on their last album since it was their major label debut
