I heard CCR in GTA:SA and liked it.
Went to the store to get their first album, and it started my exploration of 60's rock/psychedelic which became my favorite thing ever, and related genres a bit later.

The newer NHL games weren't on PC

MGSV got me into Mike Oldfield. It's funny that I came to know his amazing prog instrumental albums through that one funny rock song.

GTA V's Radio Mirror Park was fucking amazing. Miami Horror, Neon Indian, Yeasayer, HEALTH... every song was great.

Wipeout XL got me to try House. Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and I believe it was the original Wipeout that got me into Junkie XL.

Well... honestly just aware of Junkie XL.
