>Versatile musicians
Wasn't he only able to play sax and piano?
And I suppose Damon Albarn in general, though Blur never strayed too far from their britpop roots.
>>69136602
He was able to play guitar and drums too.
But I meant more along the lines of how many genres the musician did and how well they switched genres.

This guy
This album has more successful and cohesive versatility than a lot of acclaimed experimental artists have in their whole discog.
>>69136578
It's kind of hard to see now because he never strayed far from what's considered roots music, but Dylan changed his whole artistic identity at least three times over by the end of the 60s.

Honestly substantial musician under those criteria

Outkast, or more specifically André Benjamin - musical genius
>>69136578
Adam Crisp
St vincent has done her usual art pop / indie rock from her albums, has also done noise rock and no wave/sludge metal (or whatever you want to call grot), did a few folk songs as Annie Clark before she made it big and was also part of a noise band called The Skullfuckers back in the day but she says there are no actual decent recordings of that.

I fucking love this guy. I really digged that album he made in 2015 with Oren Ambachi, cant remember the name now. Simple songs feom 2015 was good too.
Has he released anything this year?
>>69137256
Oh yeah I remember her! I was shown a song by her on here. Forget which one. It had a lot of brass.

Swans
>>69137524
Oh for sure!
I've just heard more of André's solo work, and it's pretty amazing
>>69136651
That's just such an incredibly ambitious album I can't help but love it.
Especially when you consider that she also wrote just about everything on the album, produced it, and released it on her on label, all at the age of 25. Obviously not a one-man labour, but it's still quite a feat.
Shame The Electric Lady was weaker, but it was still okay.
That Handsome Devil deserves much more publicity.
>>69138208
holy shit yes. they're fantastic and they do so many different things. hip hop, gipsy jazz, surf rock, rockabilly, plenty of other stuff. Godforbid is a legend
Game over, guys

>>69136578
Made his nu-metal with System of a Down but in his solo career has put out a jazz fusion album, a classical album, and other art-rock-y stuff.
bump from page 10
