I DON'T KNOW WHY I CALL HIM GERALD
>>69134236
>posting a legitimately great psy-album with a unique identity instead of some obscure post-rock, modern-day indie bullcrap
Try harder.
>>69134236
you're such a fucking tool, off yourself
>>69134236
I WANT IT I NEED IT TO MAKE ME FEEL HEATED
Yeah man, that Pink Floyd guy is pretty obscure, no one has ever actually listened to his first album.
>>69134236
Pathetic
>>69135031
It's fucking unlistenable. Only tryhards pretend to like it because it's le cool to like the unaccessible garbage instead of the popular albums.
Seriously, it's just a bunch of retarded noise with the most retarded lyrics in the world.
>hurr durr I like listening to 3 minutes of ducks quacking
kys
>>69135080
It's pretty poppy though, not inaccessible at all. Do you just listen to Money on repeat all day and that's it?
>>69135080
This is low-quality bait, my friend.
>>69135105
yeah play interstellar overmeme for the average person see how poppy/accessible they think it is
hell even the "pop" songs like bike are fucking grating
>>69135173
I just want to know if you're actually serious so i don't waste my time replying to some idiot. Why would you even be complaining that an album is inaccessible, if you don't get it then maybe it's not for you. Maybe you should try something like wish you were here or dark side of the moon. Maybe the wall or final cut if you like Waters wank. To be fair though, most of the songs from that period are pretty poppy, especially the singles like see emily play or arnold layne so you cherry picking one particular song doesn't make your point true
I unironically enjoy every song on this album
Maybe its all the drugs though
>>69135283
>only degenerates like this album
of course
I don't even care about Indie, but that's the only Pink Floyd album I listened from beginning to end. Everything else always lose my interest halfway through, for some reason.
>>69135457
>Everything else always lose my interest halfway through, for some reason
Because all of the others are fucking shit, Floyd was only good when Syd Barrett was there and the only post-Piper thing you should bother listening to is Jugband Blues.
>>69135635
>>69135457
The rest of Saucer is ace.
Also the live Ummagumma and Pompeii are good too.
Atom Heart Mother is okay.
Agree that most of the rest is shit.
>>69135684
Yeah that's a good one. I've never met a person who actually listens to this.
It's just one of those albums you put on your shelf to look cool.
>>69135655
No love for Meddle?
>>69135821
It's okay, it's not my favourite.
My two favourite tracks on that (One of these Days, Echoes) are much better on Pompeii.
That's just my opinion though.
>>69134236
hey I disagree with this opinion, you should try to avoid offering your opinions as fact, because this is an anonymous forum and credentials are meaningless. So you opinion is as worthless as mine.
Astronmy Domine is the best pink floyd song ever, prove me wrong faggot.
>>69135635
>Remember a day
>Set the controls for the heart of the sun
>>69134236
I didn't like it therefore everyone who does is pretending and/or degenerate.
>>69134612
HES GETTING RATHER OLD BUT HES A GOOD MOUSE
shit thread
ITT: Good albums that contrarians brag about hating to seem like a patrician (because that's important to them for some reason)
My grandfather is an OG pink floyd fan, he was listening to this when it came out
he also was into king crimson and every time someone posts the itcotck album cover i think of him
today is his birthday, ironically
>>69134236
Listened to other works of him, just not this one.
I bring it up every once in a while because of the name and all the names of of the songs on it.
>>69135080
Just admit you don't like it
>>69135016
That song got me into this album 2bh
>>69137008
what
i enjoyed this album the first time i heard it. i don't love it but i still like it.
>>69135684
b-but
>>69135173
Interstellar Overdrive is on Dr. Strange so I wouldn't be surprised if more normies got into it.
>>69135684
>>69135784
I listen to it all the time. I'm not gonna pretend it's this masterpiece that plebs just can't understand, but it's got great rhythm, and I like the southern bluesy sound it has. Reminds me of listening to live music at a bonfire when I was a kid. Pretty fun.
I like it because of the fantastical themes, its like Tolkien on acid in music form.
Piper is genuinely the best pleb filter in psych rock
>>69137443
lol, the most inaccessible song OP has ever heard is on shitty marvel superhero blockbuster soundtracks.
Shitty thread OP
>>69135080
>I don't get it, so nobody listens to it, and if they say they do they are lying.
Grow up.
>>69137528
I love the themes too, it's so whimsical and childlike, which makes for a fun listen.
Daft Punk's Discovery has the same effect for me
>>69134236
THAT CAT'S SOMETHING I CAN'T EXPLAAAAAAIN
>>69134236
I kind of agree...
I thought this album was amazing when I was 12 and it has it's moments, but there's so much boring filler
>>69135684
I actually love this album.
What does Piper have to do with indie cred?
Indie is shit. Piper is fantastic.
>>69136771
Happy birthday to your grandfather. He seems so cool. Do you ask him about those times?
ITT Semi-inaccessible albums that aren't understood by the people posting them
>>69137634
That's bait
>>69137008
nah
>>69135080
>progressive rock redditors
>>69137793
I especially love how much Barrett's childish and fantastical songs about gnomes, bicycles and the planets contrast with the later songs about fascism, war veterans, descent into insanity and attacks on various 80s politicians.
>>69136771
My brother's grandma went to see PF on their Atom Heart Mother tour, she did acid and stuff.
Most jealous I've ever been probably
>>69139029
Yeah, Pink Floyd's history and how their music has evolved is incredibly interesting
You not replying to this post will have no effect on whether or not your mother dies in her sleep tonight, but I wish it did

>>69134612
>DOY DOY
>>69135635
>>69135655
I'm guessing you two don't actually play music? Any sane musician knows that post-Barrett Pink Floyd is infinitely better than Barrett era. Only good songs with Barrett on them are Interstellar Overdrive and Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. The rest is literal shit.
It's extremely long winded. I don't doubt people enjoy it, but I imagine few legitimately listen to it in full frequently.
>>69135080
crabs in a bucket
>>69136665
kek
>>69139089
This is the only good psych rock album ever. Prove me wrong
>>69137008
I listen to the last track occasionally.
The rest of it you have to be in a mood I haven't been in since I was 15
>>69143806
if you don't get this album you must be actually retarded
actually no, even retards can relate to this album, you'd have to be a completely soulless empty shell of a human being to not understand this album
let's get this show on the road
I see a lot of shit postin' much less fittin' albums
>>69135080
>>69134236
actually the only album of pf i can hear today
