Spirit of Eden
Cant say which one is a better album tho
Spirit of Eden
Bark Psychosis Hex is the patrician's choice
Spirit of Eden is better
Laughing Stock is everything Spirit of Eden tried to be
I've always enjoyed Spirit of Eden more
Literally everything about laughing stock is better
Spirit of Eden is my favorite of the two because it's a little more melodic.
Every time i've listened to Spirit Of Eden (3 atm) i've gotten increasingly more knocked the fuck out and i'm afraid i'm either gonna get a stroke or just die next time i listen to it

anon you don't even joke about that
Spirit of Eden has stronger songwriting but LS has New Grass.

It's actually really tepid and unengaging as far as first-wave post rock goes
Scum is the much better choice for babby's first first wave
Laughing Stock

well I would disagree on that.

Its still shit compared to Eden and Stock
Spirit of Eden. It's true that Laughing Stock is more "advanced," more challenging, etc. but it's also slightly more repetitive, and it has the closest thing to a dud on either album (Runeii).
Like >>69114201 said, Eden has the clear melodic edge, and I'm partial to that. Despite this, Laughing Stock has probably the prettiest song, New Grass, which I think narrowly edges out I Believe in You. But overall, Eden is just a perfect album, and while I cherish Laughing Stock, it kind of lives by the sword and dies by the sword—its sparseness is often starkly affecting, but also disappointing in spots.

I think its just a bit bellow laughing stock. Its just as creative. They fused jazz and ambient elements in a way Tortoise and Talk Talk never did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuokZ_UHlAk
Ascension Day is moving beyond words.
