Pardon the Beach Boys parallels (I know how tired they are) but it reminds me of Pet Sounds to Smiley Smile to Wild Honey. MPP, their best combination of pop and experimentation, then CHz, a lot weirder, not as appreciated (CHz is maximalist while Smiley Smile is minimalist though), and PW, just a fun short album of straight forward pop songs. Even across the board for the most part when compared to what the Beach Boys did after Pet Sounds, which is release progressively less endeavorous work which isn't as appreciated by non fans but is usually just as loved by fans.

You guys are all seriously missing the picture... PW is about going back to your roots. The last song is called Recycling. If you haven't seen them live there's no way to understand, theyve been doing new versions of feels era songs, water curses, new MPP variations, it was amazing. Saw them twice this year, very different shows, but you guys need to stop giving up on them. They're coming back strong
