Are his solo albums any good?
his debut s/t is pretty good but the production really hurts it
You need to have a stomach for awful production, but if you like his flavor of songwriting, then there's a few good ones. His s/t and That Lucky Old Sun both have a lot of great songs, but that's kind of it in the way of good original material aside from a handful of scattered songs. I Just Wasn't Made for These Times is a pleasant collection of Beach Boys covers (some deep cuts too), and Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin is a really nice album too.
does SMiLE count? if so then yes.

Other than the ones with original material and the solo version of Smile, are any of the others worth getting?

The last two I mentioned in my post aren't original material. I mean that as in new material, IJWMFTT is Beach Boys songs which are obviously original and his, but they are't new. The Gershwin album is just Gershwin standards performed by Brian for the most part. Both are really pleasant listens if you're a big fan.
These guys talk shit about the production, but it's just a product of its time. Get over it, his 88 release and Sweet Insanity have some great stuff.

It's not like anyone is saying Brian did a bad job producing, especially because he probably barely produced his s/t. But it's still dated and shitty sounding to most peoples' ears.

I didn't mind no pier pressure. it's a bit cheesy but
Pet Sounds is okay
just started listening to pier pressure, the autotune is obnoxious as fuck it is a fake record

i almost wish he had just let it be kind of shitty sounding instead of autotuning it
