Why is this not known as the best Wire album?

Because Chairs Missing exists

Name one thing better about Chairs Missing
Save for the album cover, I'll give you that.

This

The electronic arrangements are perfect, and the degree of experimentation in everything from vocal delivery to instrumentation is something to behold.
If Pink Flag was all about raw energy, 154 is more high-brow and cryptic.
its cover doesn't stick out well enough here to be memed hard enough

Good taste.
Shame this board only really talks about Joy Division and maybe Remain in Light as far as Post Punk goes
could've been released in the 90s and wouldn't be out of place, it's about as prophetic as Marquee Moon was

I want more like Marquee Moon. I'm not usually into guitar solos, but all the guitar on that album is so damn good.

Yeah same. All of Wire's pre-breakup trilogy is amazing, but 154 is definitely the peak. Way more adventurous than any punk/art punk album which came before it.

The guitar is so tasteful on Marquee Moon. I hate aimless guitar noodling. The guitar on Marquee Moon sounds so purposeful.
