It's really a question of personal taste. There are Dad-Rock bands that make me cringe but there's plenty of Dad-Rock bands that I enjoy. Pic most definitely related

I personally have no problem with the term. In fact not only do I think it's funny it's rather justifiable. The kind of music that people thought were going to bring great changes in the world are now listened to by people who actually ARE dads. Take it from somebody in their mid 50s who STILL listens to punk rock! I don't care if The Ramones or any punk band you can name is considered Dad Rock. Doesn't stop me from enjoying it.

Big time seconded on the Police, the Cars also had their moments too. New Wave in general never gets represented here. If Talking Heads get memed every five seconds here, you all should have no problem with any one of the nervy New Wave singers. Especially, Ric Ocasek, who has David Byrne's same style and is a production wizard along the lines of Todd Rundgren.
