I like his over/under, he kept it real

I thought his over/under was pretty lame. He just sounded really pretentious to me desu. But I love Destroyer. Been really digging City of Daughters lately

>He just sounded really pretentious to me desu.
Not that anon but I gave it a watch and in under a minute he said "I'm not really into funny shit" in that really pretentious monotone way then went on to say that he wanted to write an essay called 'Against Comedy'. I thought he was being sarcastic but as I watched the rest it's obvious that he is just that permanently smug all the time.
This guy is comical levels of pretentious. Fuck.

This is the video I'm talking about
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tapTv4dF6Us
His faux humble monotone drawl is the worst.
he makes good music but he's probably the most pretentious human alive
it transcends being annoying and becomes legit hilarious, i wish more people knew about it because its so fucking funny
"im not into funny shit"
“I was just trying to lie low and make sure that the world at large forgot Kaputt ever happened.”
A man involved in the New Pornographers, with songs like "Sing Me Spanish Techno" said "I really despise pop music these days, so I can't have people walking away humming songs."
fucking hilarious
The best songwriter of all time, no kidding. He's on another level.

if you like destroyer honestly you're probably a nu-male hate to break it to ya fella
>>69067594
Fucking kek.
Destroyer's lyricism far transcends the babby's first emotions of your typical indie shite.
You should keep listening to car seat headrest and the microphones and go back to crying over tfw no gf
>>69066919
In that video he said he blamed Jim Carrey for kid's behavior in the 90s and said he didn't morally agree with him lol
>>69067701
Lol I agree with a tripfag
>>69067918
I agree with him too but its hard to deny that Destroyer is pretty effete
>>69067958
Yeah, he is, but in the best way possible. The character he represents in Kaputt, for instance, is the very definition of effete, the lovelorn dandy chasing girls and cocaine, yet he manages to present these clichés in an appealing, loveable, even poetic manner.

This.
