The only good albums that came out this year were metal albums.

short and sweet, 6 favs from this year. wish I could add in more albums that aren't super agressive, but I'm like 6-7 months new to /mu/ so I've been focusing more of my attention brushing up on non-contemporary releases.

Short descriptions:

1 - Extremely gruesome and ear-rattling noise/sludge/grind collab album from 2 great artists, made to shock and disgust, check it out
2 - Nails also put out a brutal head-banging hardcore-punk/metalcore record this year. Love everything in their discography; this is their most accessible, but it's totally powerful in every sense
3 - Vektor pushing the boundaries of tech thrash with some lengthy, dizzying, super speedy metal
4 - nothing to say, fucking everyone has heard it. very good
5 - clipping going for a more minimalist, tight but grimey hardcore rap ep in this release.
