WHO?
man, sure 2016 is the year of musicians

Sums up his career pretty well, unfortunately.
Leon was an incredibly talented studio musician that never got the limelight he deserved

His tightrope song was catchy. I like the carnie style
Literally who?

Wow, this year is a real bitch. I'm familiar with some of his session work and such, but I don't think I have listened to any of his solo work. What's a good album of his to start on?

>No sticky
This board is fucking worthless

I may have overestimated /mu/ on this one.
Dude was a motherfucker. Not just a phenomenal sideman/session player during rock's peak, but a huge influence on 70s music as a self-produced solo artist and songwriter, just by doing his own thing and having people follow his lead.
Of course /mu/ is going to be all "literally who," the board is filled with children who can't hear outside the hype bubble they live in.

I would start with Carney.

OP here.
I saw him at the Ryman in Nashville in 2011. He opened for Bob Dylan and blew him out of the water.

He would come through occasionally and I always had something else going on, expecting I'd see him eventually. Would have loved to have seen him, just watching his concert videos I feel like he was one of those musicians who's best experienced live.

Already posted it
but goddamn it's good

His stage presence alone filled the small Ryman with huge amounts of energy.
Having a few drinks in his honor, as he would have wanted.
