this new AAL album is naisu

The production is better on this album and there's way nicer dynamics. It seems like javier has had more of an influence on the songs which is nice. I think some of the metsis solo stuff has been more melodically interesting than previous animals as leaders releases.

Tosins thumb slapping technique can be a little grating.

Gratska is a beast as usual..

Dreadfully corny. It's so sonically inoffensive, some misplaced attempt at "class" which just completely misses the mark. It's only an inch away from Starbuck-tier Spanish classical, overproduction and all, with added uncommon time signatures. Not every moment on the album is horrendous, there are some appealing sections here and there, but there are certainly enough to make it pretty void as a good project in my opinion. I'm not sure if it's down to over-compression in the production or just a complete lack of musical sense but there is such a complete lack of dynamic expression in the playing which makes so many of the riffs and melodies seem soulless and redundant, as if they were being played by a robot. AAL should stick to making djent. At least they were good at that. This is trash.

Garstka is absolutely the best drummer in metal
Even if I get nothing else out of this album, at least I got to enjoy 52 minutes of great drumming

It's a step in the right direction, I think. The drums sound fantastic.

Djent became the most laughable subgenre in metal, There are so many youtube channels that make parodies of djent, I can't even take the genre seriously.
