The Cyclops Night Watch
>>
The Love & Terror Cult - a 1970s band that described their genre as "hardcore funk" and espoused a highly aggressive and shocking black power aesthetic that greatly contrasted the more peaceful socially conscious black music of the day. The members were all arrested in 1974 in connection to a planned terrorist attack and the group was disbanded.

Albums
-The Revolution Starts Now (1971)
-Papa Was a Sell Out for the Man (1971)
-Live from a Black Panther Meeting (1972)
-Arrest This! (1972)
-I'd Do Worse With My Fists at the Olympics (1973)
-Lynching Nixon (1973)
-They Can't Hold Us Down For Long (1974)

That would probably be one of my favorite bands. Especially if hardcore funk ment that kind of psychedelic rock edge that Funkadelic had sometimes.

Lake Seed

Released their first two albums last year. Four members. Don't have much of an image other than one of them always wearing either a poncho or a simple brown cape when they perform. All four members sing

Albums
>The Woods (2015)
One hour long avant folk album, featuring three guitars, a bowed banjo at points, a floor tom, and chimes. It's actually just one long piece, and they recorded the whole thing in one take outside on a late summer night, so you can hear the crickets and outside sounds the whole time
>Titan (2015)
Fully electronic album, except for the percussion, which was a single djembe. Alien/space themed. Tribal Ambient with alien sounding textures and soundscapes, and drumming movement and chants at some points

The Blinder - 1984-1999
Performing with a sound that captivated thousands, The Blinder carried a guttural, industrial style of noise that would have made M. Gira himself shit bricks. With roaring build-to-crescendo compositions that usually shook the stage in live performances, they were famous for clearing packed venues in a matter of 20-30 mins, with only diehard fans staying to see the rest. Though they never recieved much mainstream appreciation, The Blinder was able to hold a niche fanbase that continues into this generation.

Albums include:

Receptor - 1984 (shown in pic)
Blaring Light from the End of Sound - 1987
Business Reply Mail - 1991
DAILY MULTIVITAMIN - 1999

Anton Brevard - 1967-2003 - lead guitarist, died from self-immolation. RIP.

Reaching For the Random

started out in 2010 as a duo that was supposed to be a Tool cover band like the name suggests but they sucked too hard so they just played grunge and some current indie

>What do you mean you can't do that in 2015?
folk punk based but with slap bass, saxophone, funky electronic+live drums, rapping and synths alternating between tracks
>I'll show you cringe, this song is for FUCK YOU // I'll make you pay for this (2016)
>cover is just this
folk punk, this time more stripped down and raw, gabber drums, guitar playing leaning on black metal on occasion, good cop/bad cop vocals and their most personal lyrics
>I'm a buddhist and I fuck nirvana, I'm a druglord and I smell my shit (2018)
edgy party anthems, inspired by this hot topic grimdark-gone-pop aesthetic from 10 years before the album, this time the band leaves their acoustic instruments behind completely, kind of a sellout but the mainstream doesn't really do that anymore

hiatus after their post-irony schtick flops

>Clipper EP (2025)
rap rock with a technical element to it, everyone points out the Death Grips influence but what isn't influenced by them in the current year?
>Phantomwing (2026)
Cybergrind/Trancecore/Mathcore, technical as fuck, wow dem boys are growing into serious musicians!
>The perpetually opening eye (2030)
idm/brutal prog rock/black metal, four fucking long prog epics
>Their metaphor came to life and it came horrified (2032)
taking a step back here, sort of making a niche for themselves by combinign the styles of their previous three releases and a few tracks that recall the folk punk and dance pop they used to do

founding member dies

>Cash to the Grave (2033)
their real sellout, whatever genres the mainstream consists of at this point

2nd hiatus

>s/t (2040)
mishmash of any genre they could play, and some they couldn't so they got guest musicians, feels surprisingly coherent as a whole even if almost every minute is different from any other one
>idk let's break up

Queers with Beers
>Indie-pop band 2015 +
>Members
Peter Sandberg
Nick Bluetooth
Benny "Pup" Sharps
They only released one album so far:
>Rim Job (2015)
A Indie Pop album (in manys ways similar to Passion Pit stuff but with a more vulgar yet summertime happines vibes) The theme of the whole album was inspired by one time when the founder of the band got absolutely wasted at a Passion Pit concert and accidentaly started seducing two other guys and engaged in gay poopy butt sex. These guys eould eventually form Queers with Beers. The big single in this album: "Chinese Cuisine, has the band using traditional Chinese instruments and a synthesizer to sing how much they enjoy shitting and licking on each other's face. The Album was nominated for most innovated pop song of 2015 but the band was cut off from recieving the award after Passion Pit tried to sue them over the band being more gay than they are. Eventually, they settled for free blow jobs for each other and rumor has it that they are working on a new album which mixes modern pop, with Napoleonic era culture and themes.

>Band Name
Challenger
>Genre
Electronic post-rock, something like if Kraftwerk and Swans had a baby

>First Album
Onward, to Infinity (somewhat like pic related)
>Concept
Follows the Space Race, looks at it from both the Russians and US's perspectives, follows Apollo 11 and events like that

>Second Album
From A Distance
>Concept
About satellites in orbit and space, album cover would be something like the Pale Blue Dot image taken by the Voyager, heavy emphasis on the Voyager crafts throughout the album, would sample from the recordings on their Golden Records

>Third Album
Luna
>Concept
Instrumental/ambient, no vocals, album cover is a picture of the Moon, each track is named after a different crater on the Moon, one about the Sea of Tranquility will sample Neil Armstrong speaking some

>Fourth Album
Talking Stars
>Concept
About aliens and receiving messages from aliens from far away, album cover is of a bunch of radio antennas in the desert a la the Very Large Array taken from the ground, samples the sound the VLA picks up in the movie Contact in places

>Fifth Album
Please Don't Forget Us
>Concept
Will have two meanings; first is that this is their last album, other is that the album will be about telling extraterrestrials of our world and people, will sample tons of audio from Earth like animals or random sounds or short bits of other people's music

well, I even went as far as to write songs from these hypothetical albums from this hypothetical band. Maybe I'll even record them in the exact manner that I wrote in that post. Maybe that band actually exists and I just changed the name but I actually like the fake name better. Wouldn't that be crazy?

Owl Inspectors

New Wave band from the 80's that took heavy influence from african jazz and East Asian folk music. Consists of 7 members. The two singers, a man and a chinese woman, two drummers, one on a kit and one that specialized in various forms of traditional percussion, one guitar player, one bass player, and one keyboard player

Albums:
The Beat (1982)
Somewhat typical new wave, except it's cut with very sad Erhu playing, traditional percussion from djembes as well as some percussion from a kit. Had long chanting sections with intense drum wank from both percussionists and haunting erhu and sweeping synths a la Structures From Silence by Steve Roach

Outer Space and Planets (1984)
>really began to explore the traditional influences, two hour long double album, Disk one with new-wavish bleep bloops, but also with some nice sax solos like is Lask by Ulrich Plask, and really groovy percussion and group vocals. Kind of funky
>disc two had really fast tempo nuanced drumming rhythms and all the members singing, screaming, making animal noises, etc. Also some sections with free time drum wank and free playing of the guitars and erhu with the chinese singer singing really long whistle tones while the male singer chants in tongues. Ends with a cool 20 minute long track with simple drumming and chanting with delayed guitars and stuff
>around this time they started wearing masks and cloaks at all their performances

The Lights in Mine Eyes (1988)
>released post mortem, because the band agreed on a suicide pact right after they sent it to their label
>it's another double album
(cont)
>>
>>69033409
>disc one is dark and foreboding with droning guitars and ritualistic drumming complete with gongs and hand cymbals. The vocals are deep mumbling from the male vocalist and banshee-like wails from the female one. The erhu playing is virtuosic, It's just one 37 minute long track that gradually grows more and more choatic with erratic percussion before quieting down for a five minute long traditional Erhu piece
>disc two is funky and optomistic again, but still has some doom and gloom feelings. The sax is back. A harp is introduced at some points. The last track is 12 minute where they all chant "OH, THAT LIGHT'S IN MY EYES!" without stopping with intense drum wank, followed by a 7 minute string piece with violins, slide guitar, pitched percussion, melodic "la" vocals, and of course erhu
