What exactly makes music "cheesy"?
>>68938130
if it sounds like the artist had too much fun while making it
>>68938144
>>68938130
the listener being a pleb, basically, and unable to articulate why they dont enjoy a piece of music with actual descriptors or terms
thats how you get "cheesy" or the black favorite "corny"
its too corny for me senpai
music that sounds like wouldn't it be nice
>>68938182
they aren't less valid than any other adjectives
you're just mad because your favourites are corny af
Music that sounds disingenuous
Or
Music that sounds cliché or too similar to that particular artists influences
At least that's what
Same way that a movie can feel "cheesy" or "corny". It's too emotional to the point where it feels forced or non genuine or immature. Everyone has their different definitions of how much cheese is too much though
>>68938537
>>68938520
>>68938480
again, way too subjective and broad to be an applicable adjective
person A thinks Halsey is cheesy pop
person B thinks classical is cheesy music
are you going to tell me its a perfectly valid word to describe music?
note that you cant call any person (A or B) incorrect since it's their opinions
>>68938567
perfectly valid in literally any situation outside of formal analysis

I think the way that happens is an artist buying into a fad way too heavily and way too quickly, thinking it will have more longevity than it ends up having. That's what happened with disco, crunkcore, everything that's looked upon with novelty today. And that's what will happen with genres like vaporwave given 10 years.

I use it for music that sounds too exagerated for what it tries to be. Like it suffers from bad acting.
I'm not a native english speaker, so maybe I misunderstood the meaning.
