Pic related, I've just finished listening to it but don't really see what the hype and endless praise for it is about. Maybe it's the spiritual backstory to it?

If this is the first album you listened to, than I'd have to agree - I'd be confused to.
A Love Supreme isn't the Coltrane work you should be going to if you want avant garde jazz. You should listen to Live in Japan or Meditations

Maybe it's just not for you anon.

OP, this is pretty tame when it comes to avant-garde. You'll still want to build up to it though. And find theres more to explore after you get this one.

Listen to a bunch of jazz then come back to it

What do you recommend? I've listened to Kind of Blue and Bitches Brew already, and I was recommended this. Should I listen to more of Mile's work or find someone else?

What did you like about KoB and BB?

Just switch to classical if you want to listen to some patrician music.

>just finished listening to it
So maybe just listen to it again? Some albums are growers, I found Pink Moon by Nick Drake an average album upon first listening but now it's one of my favourites. Sometimes, you just have to get to know the music better before judging it.

What's wrong with that? Maybe he'll prefer it than jazz?

What's wrong with listening to classical music and jazz?
>I Love Supreme
was John Coltrane a fuck boy?
Listen to this
Here you go, OP.
