I second Nier. Beautiful soundtrack, very somber. Can't wait to hear what Nier 2's soundtrack is like.

I'll also throw in a recommendation for Final Fantasy VI's, as well as Seiken Densetsu 3's -- the snare drum used in that soundtrack annoys a few people, but if you can get passed that, it's a breathtaking soundtrack.
