at least for metal, it would be metallica, started out extremely well, even though not everyone enjoyed them as much as others, (titanic, aliens, terminator/kill em all, ride the lightning, master) then started to fizzle and even though gaining more and more critical and public acclaim, felt more forced (avatar/black album) to being completely washed up, (st anger. whatever that white piece of shit was/if you didn't know he's already planned up to avatar 5.. so yeah, not shitting on the new terminator, buut not holding my breath)
