I was a big Green Day fan as a teenager and was disappointed by American Idiot and gave up after the 21st Century whatever it was. Listening back over their back catalogue as a grown up and professional creative person, it's so very clear that they ran out of things to say while writing Nimrod since all they were saying to begin with was "we're middle class white guys who aren't fitting in" and they'd become a global sensation since then and realised they were always fitting in. Warning is complete trash looking back and based on the cover alone, it's clear that the new one is just another stadium rock shitshow with ham-fisted political nonsense between power chords trying to prop up their image of being defiant punk rock lads that they lost back in 1995.
