Kill yourself, if you had suggested the Minnesota Tapes, I could have gone with you, but that album is garbage for any Dylan fan, including Dylan himself (it does have a few great songs but overall, it lacks what made Dylan so good)

I really do love Dylan from that era, but the bootlegs because he has more of his emotion and persona in that stuff. I prefer stuff like The Mackenzie Home Tapes off the Copyright Extension Collection Vol. 1

Hey man it's alright. I just downloaded The Minnesota Tapes and I know I can already thank you in advance for turning me towards these, I think I'll really love them. I'll check out The Mackenzie Home Tapes too. I love Dylan so much man, he's the one artist I've found that really grabs me on every level. Another great thing about him is that he's recorded just so much shit, and you can keep digging and still find great shit you've never even heard of.
I hope everything works out for you man, I lost my job recently too and it's tough. Keep it real.

Yeah, I'm so glad to have gotten into Dylan in an era where it's so much more accessible to find all the stuff he didn't want to release at the time...like some of his best songs ever for me are demos and bootlegs

Actual releases I see in there are the Minnesota Tapes, the Folksinger's Choice, all the Copyright Extension Collections, not a bootleg but I love Live at Carnegie Hall 1963

I really need to catch up on some of the recent Bootleg Series, I still haven't found the time to listen to Vol. 11 and just listen to the bootleg versions from A Tree with Roots

For me, it's more specific songs from these huge collections that are among my favorite Dylan songs, than the actual albums themselves

Stuff like Abandoned Love; the Blood on the Tapes version of Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts; Call Letter Blues; the demo version of Every Grain of Sand; the Carnegie Hall version of With God on Our Side; the demo of When I Paint My Masterpiece; I Was Young When I Left Home; Walkin' Down the Line; Moonshiner; Ballad of Donald White; I'm Not There; The Hills of Mexico; Goin' to Acapulco; etc.

When I closed my last.fm account, Dylan was my most played artist at like 12,000 or something, I don't listen to him as much anymore but anytime I listen to those songs again, I immediately remember what I loved about him

Holy fucking shit dude I love those. Abandoned Love is my favorite song of all time without a doubt. I'll check out those other songs you mentioned, some of them sound familiar but I haven't given them a good listen. Another bootleg that comes it mind is Blind Willie McTell but that's a more obvious one. I'll grab Live at Carnegie Hall 1963 and the other bootlegs you mentioned. Lately I've been listening to a lot of 80's Dylan too, and there's a lot of good shit there. Brownsville Girl's another obvious choice but goddamn that song's a masterpiece.
