This was one of the biggest problems with the stuff post Roger. Roger wrote some of the best lyrics of any band, just look at Brain Damage or Echoes. On top of that, the only music Gilmour knows how to make is crappy pop-rock with a solo here and there. When he was paired with Roger, Nick, and Rick, that was kept in check and the stuff he did was great.
