The album is not bad, but Bitter ist's dem Tod zu dienen and Her von welken Nächten are just better. Among my favourite albums ever. My biggest problem with Flammentriebe is that it tries to hard to be like HvwN, as far as even re-using the riff from Schwarz schaut tiefsten Lichterglanz.

I'm planning on diving further into different bands I've liked discographies. I haven't really listened deeply into most of the early bands discographies. For instance I've not touched any darkthrone outside of the trilogy, and I'm planning on doing that first, and then listening to the more recent Mayhem albums.
