Its a tad overrated if you ask me. I like my post rock a little more flavorful. I could never really get into silver mount zion for the same reason.

Haven't heard much of their work but I picked up their vinyl EP on a whim when it caught my eye at a secondhand record store and i was pleasantly surprised by it.

GY!BE's music kinda carries too persistant of a post apocalyptic theme for me. And the most of the song structures are very similar too. Like its good, but I never feel like listening to it like I do Tortoise or Mogwai.

I was indifferent to them for a while but then I invested in good headphones and I now absolutely love their work.

I think they're a pioneering group, but there's other groups out there who have better albums, despite Gy!be having a better discography overall.
